The bond between Orca is incredibly strong, Orca pods will stay together as a family for life much the same as we do, they pass their knowledge down to their young who pass that on to their own. I wanted to convey that closeness in this painting of two orca, I also wanted it to show the passing of day to night and have the sun and moon glimpsing each other before one slips below the horizon.
